One of the things I loved the most about Cindy and Benny’s wedding, besides this super fun and cute couple, was their table decor by The Orchard House and Poppies Floral Design.  There were beautiful floral arrangements (also shown in iWed magazine), some in tea cup china and some in small vases, surrounded also by fanned out book pages and old books in what lined the tables.

Cindy and Benny got married at The Orchard House in Concord, NC the first weekend in October.  The weather was beautiful and so was every thing else that went in to this wedding.  One of the most memorable participate of the wedding party was the most energetic flower girl we have ever had the opportunity to photograph.  She was cute and sweet and FULL of energy.  Her Mom told us that she had been up all day and never had a nap, which surprised us since we watched her dance the night away and not crash until after the last song was played.  I bet she really slept good that night.  Here are some photos of her doing her job at the ceremony, then letting loose at the reception.

Also, Cindy and Benny’s wedding gave us a little lesson in Korean culture.  Cindy is half Korean.  In Korea, the couple is given wedding ducks as a gift on their wedding day to keep with them throughout their marriage.  The ducks are usually Mandarin ducks because it is believed that Mandarin ducks mate for life.  In Korean culture, the Mandarin “wedding” ducks represent peace, fidelity and plentiful offspring.*  We wish this couple all the best in all these areas!

Another first for MelendezPhoto was the ICE CREAM BAR!!  In all the wedding we have ever photographed or even attended as a guest, this was the first wedding that has an ice cream bar, Ben and Jerry’s.  We love ice cream, so this fit us well.  It was also well received by many of the guest.  A couple times, there was even a line.  Good choice guys to have an ice cream bar and thank you for giving us our first of these!  🙂

But the night wasn’t without its emotion, the maid of honor gave a beautiful speech about her twin sister, the Bride.  People danced, hugged and shared laughter.  And they all left with “Love”, written in Japanese, mason jars as their wedding favors.

We wish we could do this wedding all over again if we could.  But we will settle for knowing that our Bride and Groom will have a happy marriage, happily ever after, just like a fairy tale!
