Keith is a fantastic videographer that I’ve had the pleasure of working with at a few weddings early in my career. His studio was next to my mentor’s so it wasn’t uncommon to pull up to the studio late at night and see each other unloading our gear so we’d relax for a bit and share stories of the day before heading home. So when Keith asked me and a couple of our friends which one of us wanted to photograph his wedding we thought it would be a blast to all just team up and shoot it together. We packed up the gear, and had a road trip down to Charleston to party at, I mean photograph, their wedding.
We went to the beach house where Keith and the guys were getting ready. Spent the morning Joking around, eating pizza, and capturing some really great moments. Then it was time to go see Ashley and the Bridesmaids, we drove out to her suite at the venue. The area itself had this great Spaniard-ish rustic feel that’s so common to coastal cities. It was so much fun hanging out with Ashley and her friends. One of the coolest things about weddings is that people are filled with anticipation for a celebration. There was just a great buzz in the air as everyone got ready.
When we got to the venue, I was enamored with how beautifully it was decorated. This Country club house right on the edge of the water. with the ceremony taking place under a huge Weeping Willow (I think that’s what it was). A lovely ceremony full of really loving moments, as well as a few embarrassing jokes. It was all wrapped up with an amazing reception, with the tunes brought out with one of the best mixed DJ sets I’ve heard in a while. We partied the night away and got some rest, we had a good drive ahead of us.
